Processor: The M4 family of chips (M4, M4 Pro, M4 Max) utilize second-generation 3-nanometer technology. The M4 features a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, the M4 Pro has up to a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU, and the M4 Max includes up to a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU.
Performance: These chips boast the world’s fastest CPU core and robust multi-core performance, an advanced GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine for AI tasks. Faster unified memory with increased bandwidth supports large language models and projects, with capacities up to 32GB on the M4, up to 64GB on the M4 Pro, and up to 128GB on the M4 Max. Performance comparisons show the M4 MacBook Pro is significantly faster than previous generations.
AI Capabilities: Designed for Apple Intelligence, the system-wide personal intelligence features include Writing Tools, a redesigned Siri, Image Playground, and Genmoji. Apple Intelligence is in beta on Macs with M1 and later chips, with more features planned.
Display: The Liquid Retina XDR display offers up to 1000 nits for SDR and 1600 nits peak for HDR, with an optional nano-texture finish for reduced glare.
Camera: A new 12MP Center Stage camera improves video quality and framing, and supports Desk View.
