The iPad Pro M4 features Apple’s M4 chip, built on second-generation 3-nanometer technology. This includes a powerful 16-core Neural Engine for AI tasks. CPU configurations vary by storage size: 256GB/512GB models have a 9-core CPU (3 performance + 6 efficiency), while 1TB/2TB models feature a 10-core CPU (4 performance + 6 efficiency). All models come with a 10-core GPU featuring hardware-accelerated ray tracing. RAM is 8GB for lower storage tiers and 16GB for 1TB/2TB models. The device offers up to 1.5x faster CPU performance and up to 4x faster rendering compared to the M2 chip. It also includes a robust Media Engine supporting various video formats.
Design and display
Available in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes, the iPad Pro M4 boasts an Ultra Retina XDR display with tandem OLED technology for exceptional brightness and precision. It achieves 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness for SDR/HDR and 1,600 nits peak brightness for HDR, along with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Key display features include ProMotion (10Hz-120Hz), P3 wide color, and an anti-reflective coating. A nano-texture display glass option is available for 1TB and 2TB models. The 13-inch model is notably thin at 5.1 mm, with the 11-inch model measuring 5.3 mm. The design uses 100% recycled aluminum and comes in silver and Space Black.
Cameras
The rear features a 12MP Wide camera with a ƒ/1.8 aperture, adaptive True Tone flash, up to 5x digital zoom, and 4K video recording. The adaptive flash enhances document scanning. The front camera is a landscape 12MP Center Stage camera with a ƒ/2.0 aperture, optimized for video calls in landscape mode. A LiDAR Scanner is included for improved AR and depth mapping.
Apple Intelligence
The M4 chip is designed to power Apple Intelligence features in iPadOS 18, focusing on writing, expression, and productivity with strong privacy measures.
Accessories
The iPad Pro M4 supports the new Apple Pencil Pro, which includes features like squeeze, barrel roll, and haptic feedback. It is also compatible with the new Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, which is thinner and lighter and includes a function row and a larger haptic trackpad.
Connectivity
Connectivity includes a Thunderbolt / USB 4 port for charging, DisplayPort, and high-speed data transfer (up to 40 Gbps). Wireless support covers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Wi-Fi + Cellular models support 5G via eSIM. It can drive one external display up to 6K resolution at 60Hz.

Battery life offers up to 10 hours of web browsing or video playback on Wi-Fi, and up to 9 hours on cellular for Wi-Fi + Cellular models.
